Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I book with Tara?

Check the status on Tara’s Instagram profile! If it says ‘books closed,’ that means she is not scheduling any new tattoo appointments. If it says ‘books open,’ that means she is taking on new tattoo projects.

Tara’s books open approximately once or twice a year. During that time, she send out a newsletter alert (sign up here) and publishes a post on IG. (Newsletter subscribers get earlier access!) The day Tara’s books open, she provides a form requesting the necessary information to process your submission.

Tara receives more submissions than she can handle each booking period, so please be aware that a submission is not a guarantee of an appointment!

  • Can I consult with Tara while her books are closed?

Tara does not hold formal consultations while books are closed. However, if you are wondering if she may be interested in your concept you may email her your idea. From there, she can tell you if it is a project that is a good fit, or if you should seek out another artist.

Note: If Tara says she is interested in your idea it is not a guarantee that she will accept your submission once books are open. She receives a lot of really interesting concepts, and can only commit to so many projects at a time.

  • What are Tara's rates?

Tara’s rate is $250 an hour, and she tends to work in half-day or full-day blocks. A half-day is about 3 hours and is $750, and a full day is about 6 hours and is $1,500.

  • Do I see my design before the appointment?

No. There is time included in every appointment to review the design and make necessary small changes. If major changes need to be made, your appointment may have to be rescheduled. To avoid this, please be thorough with your concept during the consultation.

  • Is there anything I can do to increase my chances of getting in with Tara?

Larger pieces with open concepts tend to spark more interest than pieces with strict constraints in size and/or concept. Tara works in an illustrative style, meaning she likes to try to tell a story with each design. That becomes difficult when a piece is smaller, or has too many concepts trying to be incorporated.

  • Will Tara add on to other artists' work?

Yes, although every artist has their own style. Because of that, Tara recommends going back to the original artist to complete the piece to make the tattoo look as cohesive as possible. If that is not an option, Tara will assess the existing work and make sure she is able to integrate with the existing work in a cohesive fashion.

  • Is Tara's set up vegan?

    Yes!
